boxing with ConradFriday:
We usually go to Desert Ridge, but the kiddos wanted to go to the Vistancia swimming pool instead. As soon as we got there, it started thunder and lightening, so we turned around and went home to watch movies! We went to bed at a reasonable hour and actually got some sleep. So, it turned out for the best, although I have to admit, I missed Desert Ridge and the "regulars" we see there each week!
Saturday:
We still hadn't bought Riley's bday present, so we went to Desert Ridge and hit Limited Too (Addi's favorite store). We did some shopping, ate some yummy pizza, had some cold stone and then headed to Mesa for Riley's party. It was fun to see the Allen family and hang out with them. They are so much fun; we just love them! Riley got so many fun presents. We got her a real digital camera, now Addi and Logan want one too!
After the party, we went to CB's to hang out. Logan and CB got the boxing gloves on. It was soo much fun to see Logan get excited over something that's not legos or star wars! That's all he talked about for the rest of the weekend: "boxing with CB" and how tuff he is! Soo cute! We got some dinner (Cafe Rio - YUUUM), rented a movie, played hide-and-go-seek in the dark and had a lot of fun!
Sunday:
Before church Addi was begging me to open her "birthday box" from Uma (my mom). She made me a deal: if she could open it before church, she PROMISED she would go to her own Primary class. Turns out, Sister Cowan is her teacher. Sister Cowan has a special bond with Addi. She was Addi's nursery teacher when we first moved to Arizona and Addi was living with a Neuphrostomy Tube out of her back. She didn't put up with Addi's "tude", at all. I think because of that, Addi has a lot of respect for her. She also openly admits that Addi is her favorite! Hopefully going to Primary alone won't be such a big ordeal anymore!
After church, we went to Grandma Jean's in Scottsdale. The kids LOVE spending time with her!
Addi is super excited for her birthday tomorrow. We are bringing cupcakes to school to share. She's not happy to move up to the four year old class ... however ... the teacher is! The 3 year old teacher and the 4 year old teacher were discussing how Addi is their favorite student! I'm glad she's so loved.
Logan is looking forward to starting school on August 13th. He can't wait! He's looking forward to homework again, a real routine and all his old friends.
