a weekend alone

CB and Dason

Jimmy Eat World

We had such a fun weekend. Don't get me wrong, we missed having the kiddos around, but some alone time is just what we needed.

On Friday night we went to a new restaurant in Tempe and then to the gym. We had a lot of fun playing racquet ball.

On Saturday morning we went to the Reed's Family Ranch in Queen Creek for a family breakfast. Brian and Bonnie live right across the street from Schnepf Farms (where Edgefest was). It was so much fun to meet the rest of the Reed's. There were horses, cows, chickens and lots of fun farm toys. Uncle Brian is a blacksmith, too! Brian asked me and CB to come back with the kids for some pony rides and a sunset BBQ. We're planning on taking him up on that offer. The kiddos would LOVE that!

Saturday night was
Edgefest. Thanks to Jared and Shelene for watching Dason and Danelle's kids. We had A BLAST with Dason and Danelle at Edgefest. On our way I asked CB, "What are the chances we'll see some people you know?" There was to be an estimated 10,000+ people there and he said there was no way we'd run into anyone we know. WELL ... there was actually 15,000 in attendance and we ran into the rest of the Linton boys and some of CB's friends from school. All night, we ran into guys Dason and CB grew up with. The boys had a fun time, grasping the concept that their childhood next door neighbor was up on stage and an alternative rock celebrity. While the band was being interviewed, Tom looked down into the crowd and waived at us. They were THE best band, in my opinion. And I'm in no way bias.

Here are some of the bands we saw and what they performed:
Bad Religion - New Dark Ages
Bad Religion - Come Join Us

Today we have enjoyed our last day of alone time! We got some honey-do's around the house done and have enjoyed watching some football games.

This week: CB starts a new job as a Sales Manager at Elontec. He's way excited and so am I. They sound like a really wonderful company and this position is such a blessing! It's closer to where I live and work. We have Logan and Addi on Monday and Tuesday. We have Riley and Miranda on Wednesday night and then Thursday - Sunday, another weekend alone.
